TOUCH TRACES Public Art Project Vinyl and Paint Various Dimensions on 10 Outdoor Surfaces Calgary AB Canada 2022
Touch Traces is a community-engaged temporary public art project installed across ten surfaces along a busy cycling and pedestrian pathway next to Calgary's Bow River. Hundreds of fingerprints were contributed by community members, then documented and manipulated using a flatbed scanner to create elongated, abstract images. The resulting linear, flowing artwork mirrors the movement of the adjacent river. Commissioned by Calgary Municipal Land Corporation as part of their Art in the Public Realm Program.
