MACHINE SERIES Selected Works Disperse Dye and Ink on Paper 2018-2019
This series of drawings was made during my time at Leeds Arts University, using an industrial vinyl cutter as a drawing tool. I experimented with different pens and papers, feeding wrinkled or damp sheets through the machine and adjusting the cutter's speed and force to produce varied, often unpredictable marks, sometimes at the cost of destroying the tools themselves. Alongside these physical experiments, I developed digital processes to generate intricate, linear compositions with a level of precision beyond what is achievable by hand.
